    A Veterans Law Judge will review all of the available evidence and write a decision. For each issue you’re appealing, they can decide to:

    I don't know what is being appealed. My appeal was awarded a month ago and that's the only appeal I have.  My appeal was remanded to the director of compensation and after they got done with it my appeal was awarded. So why would it being going to BVA judge now? I also have a dependency claim for my son in college and travel back pay reimbursement.

If you have a POA, and the RO awarded the same conditions as noted in your BVA appeal-

I suggest you contact the BVA ombudsman to let them know and they can withdraw the appeal.

It happened to me long ago- I had an appeal at the BVA but subsequently succeeded in the claim at the VARO level.

I had a POA rep (DAV)but they didn't have a clue, and I thought they had withdrawn my appeal when they got the award letter.(which they took credit for but Never helped me at all)

The BVA then rendered my appeal as moot citing the award I had received for the same issue.....wait maybe it was a different issue-I just remembered something it said- 'the widow has been awarded DIC under Section 1151   but could subsequently attempt to prove direct SC death'----I need to find the case at BVA- I am just recalling what they said.They also said my FTCA offset would have to be refunded if I ever proved direct SC death ( probably what the appeal was for).

I proved Direct SC death under 2 theorys- and sent the RO the BVA decision, requesting a full refund of my FTCA offset, per the regulations from the BVA. They ignored my letters completely-I sent more than one letter  and finally called the OGC and the VA OGC fixed that immediately with an order to my RO to refund the offset, and a copy of the order to me as well.....the check suddenly was in the mail. That is it sat in my mailbox for almost 3 days as we had a severe snowstorm and the lids had been blown open and the mailbox was full of snow- with the check so wet I had to dry it before depositing it-ironically three week prior my RO sent me a letter to take to my bank advising them it would be sent by wire. My DIC came by direct deposit to my account.My bank never got the wire transfer and I was stunned that instead they sent this very large check by mail.

 

Sorry this has nothing to do with your claim but one never knows how many widows or widowers read the site and might need info like this.

I will find the BVA ombudsman's email addy and post it here. They have always replied to me on many BVA issues but Covid has them probably on a limited work schedule.
