EVSS

Rate this question

Question

I have been contacted by LHI to schedule a C&P meeting on my claim for an increase to my PTSD rating.  I looked up the status of my claim on the VA.GOV website and it verifies that I'm in the status of this hearing being schedule.  The website says the C&P is for:

1. PTSD (Increase)

2. EVSS (New)

What in the world is "EVSS"?  I have tried various methods, online and via a phone call to DAV, with no luck.  Can anyone help interpret this for me?

The only thing vet related I know EVSS is the Enterprise Veterans Self Service (EVSS) system which runs through the VA tech backbone. This may in fact be an EVSS error stating EVSS in a letter for a C&P..though I doubt it. it would be funny though. It would amount to the Computer announcing it has an error but only to a select veteran...very odd.

Maybe Alex will chime in.  However, VA "insiders" (VA employees) have a whole alphabet soup of abbreviations we are not privy to.

I would not worry about it.  There are lots of things in a rating specialists job that we dont know about, and, unless you are planning on becoming a rating specialist, I dont suggest you try to understand every aspect of their job.

If you did, then they could be insulted you are trying to do their job for them.

VA works hard at "creating a knowledge gap" between rating specialists and Veterans.  The wider that gap, the better they like it.

I recommend you focus on learning stuff that matters.

For example, can you name the 3 Caluza elements?  That matters.

It does not matter whether or not you know what "triage" means.

I don't have a clue what EVSS means? but I would think its tied into some type of evaluation.
