✅ Why You’re Getting Two VA Payments in August 2025

📅 Two Deposits in August? Here’s Why

This August, veterans will receive two VA disability payments:

  • August 1, 2025 – for July benefits (normal schedule)
  • August 29, 2025 – early payment for August benefits

The VA normally issues payments on the first business day of each month for the previous month. Because September 1, 2025 falls on Labor Day (a federal holiday), the VA moved the August check up to Friday, August 29 — the last working day before the holiday.

It’s not a bonus. You just get paid the August benefit early, meaning two deposits in one calendar month.

💡 What This Means for Your Budget

  • You still only get paid once per benefit month.
  • Your next payment after August will be on October 1, 2025—there’s no payment in September.
  • Planning ahead for bills or auto‑drafts is key when two payments fall in one month.

🏦 Why Some Veterans See Even Earlier Deposits

Banks like USAA and Navy Federal often post VA payments 1–3 days early, so some veterans may see funds in their account as early as August 27 or 28.
